My name is Bogdan Acatrinei – Specialist in Implantology and Aesthetic dentistry under the Microscope and i represent Super Dent ( www.super-dent.ro ), our clinic is located in Constanta, Romania since 1992.
I graduated the Carol Davila Univeristy of Medicine and made Master in Endodontics and after that i made one year Master in Implant Dentistry and Advanced Implant therapy at UCLA, California, USA.

This year, 2015, Our team won the 2nd place in the WORLD for the case presented in the International Competition organised by the most prestigious prestigious dental Association in Italy : Academia Italiana di Odontoiatria Protesica AIOP and ZERODONTO , Prosthodontics and the Face. How long have you been in business?
I have started to practice since 2006 at Super Dent, which is my family buisness since 1992.
How many dental implant procedures have you done? What is your success rate?
I have performed over 1000 implants, including bone augumentation, sinus lift internal or external and membrane addition. My success rate is 98,9%.
Where do most of your patients come from? How do they hear about your clinic?
Most of my patients are from Romania , but over the last 4 years I also had patients from Europe .
The first reason is budget related. Locally, Super Dent is rated as a top clinic, with services more expensive than the market average. For other larger cities such as Rome, Madrid and London, the cost of our services are below the market average due to the difference living standards. This makes a patient who comes from such an environment able to benefit from our top service at a lower cost, thing almost impossible in his local market, even after quantifying the costs of travel / accommodation.
We provide complete logistical assistance during the entire the treatment. Each patient is assigned to a KPG (Key Patient Guide) – which is available full-time to patients for any kind of information, scheduling, flight reservations, accommodation or other details.
What procedures do you typically recommend and perform?
I perform single implants , all on 4, all on 6 , sinus lift , bone augmentation , membrane addition , Prf membrane , integral ceramics crowns , zirconium crowns and metalo-ceramic crowns .
Of course that each case is different and I recommend what is suitable for each patient for both functional and esthetic.
In our clinic we have five doctors for different specialties so we can solve complex cases.
Our treatments are made under the Microscope operator. The treatments that are done under the Microscope Operator, by Super Dent ’92 specialists ensure maximum efficiency and precision, representing integral parts of any high quality restorative procedures.

What type of implants does your clinic use?
We use Dio Implants and Nobel Implants system, because it is extremely precise, making the implants and therefore the crowns on them to have a longer life than many other well-known brands. Usually implant systems all have different screws, different screwdrivers and different attachment of the cause any problems however, because patients happily return for the crowns as well, since the dental work is much cheaper in Romania, even with the flights, than in US and also Constanta is quite a place to visit.
Please give me a summary of the steps in the process of getting an implant at your clinic.
You will have a first talk with the doctor, it is important for us to understand what you want.
Necessary investigations will be performed: CBCT (computer tomography), photos and study models.
You will get all information related to costs, duration, treatment alternatives and the team of doctors who will treat you.
Surgical Step
On the surgical step the dental implant will be inserted into the bone, and then will become the artificial root for the next tooth. The surgery is performed under anesthesia, and it is completely painless. For anxious persons there is the option: general anestezia. Whether it’s a single dental implant, or more, all will be inserted on the same intervention. On the same intervention will be performed the auxiliary interventions, if necessary. Those can be: bone augmentation, sinus lift and membrane addition.
Sutures are removed after 10 days, and the patient will receive a temporary dental work during the bone integration of the dental implant. The standard period is 3 to 6 months.
Prosthetic Step
After the bone integration of the implants, we have the prosthetics step, when we perform and fix the final crowns or other dental works. This step requires two sessions: impression and the final fixing of the crowns or bridge .
Maintenance of Dental Implants
Restored teeth with dental implants should be maintain as the natural teeth by normal hygiene. In all cases we recommend recall consultations twice a year, during which, a professional dental cleaning is necessary, and x-rays.
How much do your procedures cost?
Starting from 400 euro for implants.
What payment methods do you accept? Do you offer financing?
We have competitive rates and flexible payment systems, we accept cash and credit cards .
How many trips to Romania are required and how many days per trip are required to get one or two implants?
You will need to make 2 trips to Romania. The first one for the surgery step and the second one for the prosthetic step.
How long is the healing time like for patients who get dental implants? How many surgeries/appointments are required?
10 days after the surgery step we must cut off the sutures and then we will have to wait 3-6 months for the implant to get osteointegreted and after this period you must come to our clinic for the prosthetic step.
What do advise your patients to do if they have a problem with their implant?
Implants come with a lifetime guaarantee from the producer. We offer great value to communication with all our patients all the time, starting from the first contact and even after the treatment is completed. We also request all our patients to visit a local dentist every 6 months for simple checkup and prophylaxis in order for the dental implants life to be extended to maximum.
We have had no patient travelling back to Constanta, except the two regular visits yet and we are keen to keep that number to same level.
What other costs would there be for someone travelling to your clinic from North America?
The roundtrip air ticket from US to Bucharest Romania usually starts from $700 up to $1000 depending on the time of booking and season of travelling. Very decent 3-4 star hotels close to our clinic in Constanta start from $40-45/night including breakfast. There are a lot of good restaurants in most parts of the city, and the prices start from $10/very decent meal for a person.
Where do your patients stay while they are getting an implant done?
We have a list of hotels nearby our clinic we suggest to our patients, but they are welcomed to choose any location they find on their own in Constanta or Mamaia .
It it safe in Romania?
Generally, Romania can be considered a very safe country . Very few people own guns in the country and most of those who do are hunters.
Does a patient need to be able to speak Romanian?
No. Our staff is well trained to speak English , Italian , Spanish and France.
What is there to do in your city?
Situated at the crossroads of several commercial routes, Constanta lies on the western coast of the Black Sea, 185 miles from the Bosphorus Strait. An ancient metropolis and Romania’s largest sea port, Constanta traces its history some 2,500 years. Originally called Tomis, legend has it that Jason landed here with the Argonauts after finding the Golden Fleece.
The third largest city in Romania, Constanta is now an important cultural and economic centre, worth exploring for its archaeological treasures and the atmosphere of the old town centre. Its historical monuments, ancient ruins, grand Casino, museums and shops, and proximity to beach resorts make it the focal point of Black Sea coast tourism. Open-air restaurants, nightclubs and cabarets offer a wide variety of entertainment.
While in the area, you can visit traditional villages, vineyards, ancient monuments and the Danube Delta, a bird-lover’s paradise.
What is the best time of year to travel to Romania?
Of course, every season is interesting in its own way and no matter when you come here, you will find something nice to see and do. You can ski in one of the Romanian winter resorts if you come between December and March or you can get a beautiful tan on the Black Sea coast if you come from June to September.
What are the best places to eat in your area? Where can a patient get authentic Romanian cuisine?
Constanta is a great town for having lots of fun , we have plenty restaurants and bars . We recommend Irish Pub , London Pub , Marco Polo , Nilos Greek Taverna , Toscana, Popasul Pescarilor but if you want to eat traditional Romanian cuisine you must try La Ana si Ion.
